Bolingbrook Post Office Will Be Open Sunday, Dec. 22; Also, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve Hours Are Set

If you're mailing cards, letters or packages, take note of the post offices holiday hours.

Most Chicagoland post offices will close early on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, according to a press release from the U.S. Postal Service.

While many locations will close at noon, Bolingbrook's post office, 105 Canterbury Lane, will be open a bit longer, the office hours running from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Post offices in Joliet and Naperville also will close at 5 p.m.

Mail will be delivered on those days as scheduled.

In observance of the holidays, post offices will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Only Express Mail will be delivered on those days in most major metropolitan areas. Post offices will resume regular business hours on Thursday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.

Also, Bolingbrook's post office will be open to serve customers looking to mail holiday items during the last-minute frenzy on Sunday, Dec. 22, from noon to 3 p.m.
