Symphony in Lights, Holiday Fest at Promenade This Saturday

The festival starts at 3 p.m. and includes horse-and-carriage rides, kids crafts, a petting zoo, ice sculpture and a live Nativity scene.

The Promenade Bolingbrook provided this news release on the start of its holiday Symphony in Lights Show, which is held daily, and Saturday's Holiday Fest:

The Promenade Bolingbrook, Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital and the Village of Bolingbrook join together to provide the community at large a spectacular day of holiday family fun. 

Activities begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, and continue throughout the afternoon ending with the lighting of The Promenade Bolingbrook’s massive Holiday Tree and the first Symphony in Lights show of the 2013 Holiday Season.*

Famed as the largest commercial holiday light show of its kind in Chicagoland – “Symphony in Lights” features more than 250,000 highly efficient LED lights embedded in thousands of feet of holiday foliage and choreographed to the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. 

The show is created with 1,100 channels of computer programming and 60 computers. The three-song program takes approximately 54,000 clicks on a computer mouse and requires approximately 50 miles of wire to run the electricity. 

Holiday Activities begin at 3 p.m. and will include:

  • Horse-and-Carriage Rides
  • Santa Tent
  • Kids Holiday Crafts
  • Ice Sculpture
  • Demonstrations
  • Live Nativity Scene and petting zoo
  • Food Drive benefiting Power Connection.**
The Promenade Bolingbrook is conveniently located just west of Interstate 355 at 631 E. Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, Ill. 

* Nightly Symphony in Lights Shows will continue daily at dusk, every hour, on the hour, until December 31, 2013 at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m., 9 p.m.

** The first 300 people donating a monetary and/or non-perishable food item will receive a Promenade Bolingbrook complimentary gift bag.
