Let's Talk 'Pink' Wine for the Summer!

Break out of the "white zinfandel" complex and try a beautiful French rosé. The refreshing rosé is great for everyone - men and women alike will "drink Pink" this summer.

There are many wines that are refreshing for the summer months, however there is one that can be paired with a variety of foods and also be a patio wine! This wine is a pink "rosé" from France. Yes - a true rosé - that is typically made from Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre. These wines are not the sweet "Pink Zinfandel" that California wineries have made so common in the U.S. These French rosé wines have depth and flavors that are very unique and refreshing. Many of our younger wine drinkers (age 25-40) are less affected by the "White Zin" effect on any wine that is pink and are more apt to try a French rosé wine.

Example - Here are the WineMaker Notes for Domaine De Nizas Rose (rosé from Languedoc-Roussilon, France):

"A lush and lively wine with an appealing soft rose color and violet hints. Its bouquet develops intense aromas of delicate peony, raspberry, clementine and violet candy notes. The palate is smooth, round and well balanced with a lingering finish. Vibrant, crisp and dry, this rosé embodies the finesse, style and spirit of the domaine."
