Best Burgers in Bolingbrook? Ashbury's of course! Offering a nice variety of toppings, and cooked the way you want 'em. How many places even ask you any more. The atmosphere, overlooking the golf course, patio seating, pub seating, and spacious dining room give you a wide choice of where to eat your burger, too. I love the Bourbon Burger, which has onion straws, smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, and special BBQ sauce. You still have the tomato slice, raw red onion, and leafy lettuce all on a fresh pretzel roll, which makes one tasty hamburger. I love their home made potato chips, and all tables receive them with a complimentary herb dip, to get you started. My friends from the library's Knitter's Nest just keep coming back for more. The is Bolingbrook's best kept secret. The one that the other burger joints don't want you to know about. They have a daily special, where you can get a hamburger, fries(chips), and a drink all for $3.99! The burger is smaller than their usual half-pounder, but is far superior to any other burger offer in town.

Ashbury's has come a long way from it's humble beginnings in a noisy, smokey, backroom, behind the old clubhouse. Even then, they were known for making the best pub burger in Bolingbrook. Some things didn't change, and others changed for the better. There's still a more casual pub area with a cosy bar, a fireplace, and big TV screens, that overlooks the picturesque golf course. It's just a newer, fresher decor with computerized order placement by the staff. The burgers are flavorful, well-proportioned, and dressed to order. I love the house-made potato chips! They're served on china plates now, not in red picnic baskets. No matter which way that you're sitting, you've got a view of a plasma TV screen with the latest sports or news. When I've felt the need to get away from the pub atmosphere, and doing some more serious eating, I choose the adjacent dining room, where the tall windows place me closer to the greens, and the spectacular view. I used to go and treat myself after work, to a nice steak dinner, complete with a stuffed baked potato. I don't think they serve filets presently, but they were excellent. I tried a prime rib dinner special one weekend, and the serving of meat was thick and cut like butter. It actually beat the filet in flavor and juciness. The service has always been better than average. I still consider them one of my favorite places to dine in Bolingbrook.
