This is why some people don't need to date especially so young. Not everyone can control theirRead More emotions. This kid thought his life was over because of a girl. I hope he gets the help he needs mentally as well.

Reminds me of that f***-face from California who was upset because he was a virgin and girlsRead More wouldn't sleep with him ... waaahhh waaahhh waaahhh. For those who want to degrade the victim, please proceed as we know there is nothing that can stop your ignorance. Your words will only show others that you are pathetic and small minded. I would ask you "what if this was your sister or someone related to you?", but with your Beavis & Butthead mentality, I don't think you could even comprehend the question itself let alone try to gather what little brain cells you have to attempt empathy for this girl.

What ever happened to our rights by the constitution for a speedy trail? Come on lawyers and judges,Read More get off your dead asses and get this over with...
Joe July 24, 2014 at 11:28 am
Obviously she waived her rights to a speedy trial. It's a tactical legal move by the attorneys.Read More Besides, the longer you postpone your trial the better your chances. For many different reasons.

Francisco Espinal-Quiroz, 51, could face more charges in the highway deaths of four people Monday, July 21, including Ulrike Blopleh of Channahon.
Jp July 23, 2014 at 01:35 pm
It's was a horrible accident. My heart goes out to the families. The news did a cover story on thisRead More stretch of highway. It showed 172 accident 6 deaths and 58 injuries. The state needs to take a look into that. I do feel his bail is excessive. Let alone made him out to look like a murderer who intentionally did this. I guarantee he wishes it was him rather than to take 4 lives. I think there are many occupations that don't require log books yet these people have been up for 24 hrs + and they get behind the wheel. Yes he should be held responsible but There are people committing horrific crimes that don't get that kind of bail. I know when something horrible happens they want to throw the book at that person. Unfortunately nothing will change the outcome. A perfect example is cell phones. Many deaths have resulted from people causing accidents while on the phone. It's against the law to use them when driving but I see it every day. I will say people are responsible for there actions and there the only ones to blame. Don't put the blame on the state police. That's not on them. I feel for them and everyone on that scene because no doubt it was a horrific accident scene
Ericus Alanas July 23, 2014 at 01:57 pm
Truck traffic on 55 is insane, its getting way out of control and just today there were 11 trailersRead More with 9 of them going 3x3. Its like driving on the same tracks as a locomotive train.

With the vehicles involved in the crash still in the background, Illinois State Police held a press conference Monday, raising the death toll to five from Monday's two crashes on I-55 moments apart.
amanda July 22, 2014 at 08:48 am
and the names have been released: Three women and one girl were killed in the crash. They have beenRead More identified as: Kimberly K. Britton, 43, of Urbana; Piper Britton, 11, of Urbana; Vicky L. Palacios, 54, of Coal City; and Ulrike P. Blopleh, 48, of Channahon.
PatchMaster July 22, 2014 at 12:37 pm
Last year when the construction in that area began and the crashes started adding up there was anRead More out cry about what to do about it. Well the state police and local and state legislators got together to try and find ways to reduce the amount of accidents in the area. Nice job guys-NOT. I know it is not solely the fault of local and state officials, blame must also go to those who drive recklessly. And by that I mean anything that distracts you from your PRIMARY job which is safely and legally operating your motor vehicle. Having higher speed limits is not the problem. Trucks ignoring the law that states their speed limit is 55mph is so widely ignored that they are a major contributor to the problem. Now I know there are people who will come on here and defend trucker drivers but who hit who here? In both crashes a truck was the initiator, need I say more? Regardless of what the state does there will always be stupid drivers, and as long as we have construction zones and stupid drivers we will have crashes and loss of life.
Kristine Neumann July 22, 2014 at 03:03 pm

Truth, the driver of that tractor trailer rig has only so far been charged with log bookRead More falsification. I had posted earlier that if what is alleged comes out to be fact, that guy needs to get a minimum of 25 years in the penitentiary. Well, I just heard on the six o'clock news that he is likely to be charged soon with vehicular homicide, which carries a maximum sentence of 28 years.
EAGLEYE July 22, 2014 at 10:22 pm
Ex-Jolietian, obviously the troopers cannot hammer them all, but they can and will crackdown on theRead More ones that break the law. They will do that for sure along with doing tough roadside safety inspections of their rigs. Any time there is an accident of this magnitude involving tractor trailer rigs, you will see stepped up police action on these rigs and their drivers. Don't forget also the fines in construction zones double and an accident involving a fatality let alone four victims would spell lots of years for the driver if convicted.
Ex Jolietian July 22, 2014 at 10:29 pm
From what I've seen the worst truckers are the guys that handle shipping containers....they tend toRead More drive the oldest trucks...and guys that drive gravel/grain trucks. They get paid by the load, not by the mile or by the hour. More loads, more money.
