The loud noise pounding cars rolling down Bolingbrook streets are a major problem in the community. Especially around Plainview Drive and Beech Street. They seem to be especially loud around school zones as well. It often upsets and scares the senior citizens. I believe this invites gang crime and should be stopped. I have been a registered voter for 30 years and cannot remember such levels of political animosity as evidenced in recent election cycles. I believe in the statement, "Citizens have the power to set this country’s course straight" because change not only happens from the top down, but from the bottom up. During his State of the Union address, President Barack Obama spoke about …

Our Facebook readers had plenty of their own opinions on Kirk's Tuesday announcement.
Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk surprised many in announcing his support of same-sex civil marriage Tuesday. Kirk is just the second Republican Senator to buck his party with his stance. In a statement on his website Kirk said, “When I climbed the Capitol steps in January, I promised myself that I would return to the Senate with an open mind and greater respect for others. Same-sex couples should have the right to civil marriage. Our time on this Earth is limited, I know that better than most. Life comes down to who you love and who loves you back-- government has no place in the middle.” Patch Facebook readers from across our network had plenty to say Tuesday. Here’s a sampling of their opinions: David E. It's Jedi like. Good move senator and a …

It's a sad state of affairs but the BPD and code enforcement officers are not enforcing any of the little rules. Apart from noisy cars, theres the overnight parking ban -now seldom enforced, people parking on and blocking the sidewalks, people putting garbage out well before the pick up date and now the summer is here multiple garage sales without permit checks.   more ›
