Regional Honor Flight Teams are being formed in the Lincoln-Way communities.
Regional teams are being formed to help identify the estimated 20,000 surviving World War II Vets in the southwest suburbs. The goal is to get as many as are able to participate in the free, one-day Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. to see the World War II Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. Operation Locate a Hero for the southwest suburbs is headquartered at New Lenox Village Hall. According to Nancy Hoehn, economic development director, those from throughout the Lincoln-Way communities might be particularly interested in joining this effort.
