About 700 students gathered to remember the 11th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

More than 700 Tibbott Elementary School students, teachers and staff gathered around the school’s flagpole Tuesday in observance of Patriot Day. READ MORE: Following morning announcements, students marched outside to the patriotic music, observing the Bolingbrook school’s two Peace Poles as they gathered for the ceremonies. And, in fact, the number of Bolingbrook residents that can say they've been here from the beginning—Oct. 6, 1965 to be exact—is quickly dwindling to a special few. 1. It's Homecoming Week at Bolingbrook High School Bolingbrook High School administrators set the high school's homecoming week for Sept. 12-17. “Mardi Gras, Raider-style”—the week's theme—will culminate with a pep rally and football game on Sept. 16 and the Homecoming Dance on Sept. 17. The entire week will be “spirit week” with a different theme every day. Monday is Tacky Day. Tuesday is Character Day. Wednesday is Nerd Day. Thursday is Twin Day. And Friday is Spirit Day. The annual Powder puff football game will take place at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 in the BHS football stadium. Admission is $1. Fans bringing a canned food donation will be admitted free.
