Bolingbrook police arrested a 16-year-old and charged him or her following an armed robbery, according to police reports. The 16-year-old allegedly displayed a handgun, stole the victim's wallet and ran off. The incident took place at 6:35 p.m. Nov. 19. Bolingbrook police said that there was an armed robbery in the 100 block of Jeffrey Lane Nov. 10.
An armed robbery took place in a Bolingbrook neighborhood Nov. 10, according to Bolingbrook police. The incident took place in the 100 block of Jeffrey Lane. Police said the victim was lured outside by an acquaintance. Once outside, another person appeared. A handgun was displayed and someone took the victim's cell phone and cash. The robbery took place at 7:42 p.m. The neighborhood is located at the intersection of N. Bolingbrook Drive and E. Someone entered the Bolingbrook business Oct. 28, displayed a knife and demanded money.
An armed robbery took place early Oct. 28 at the I-55 Truck Stop, 510 S. Bolingbrook Dr., according to Bolingbrook police. A witness said someone entered the business, walked behind the counter, grabbed the victim around the neck, displayed a knife and demanded money from the register. The incident took place at 12:18 a.m. The offender then left in a car and drove off. Bolingbrook police say 21-year-old Demarius Styles was involved in two armed robberies in Bolingbrook in the past month.
A 21-year-old Bolingbrook man was arrested Oct. 24 for his alleged involvement in two armed robberies in Bolingbrook, according to police. Demarius D. Styles, 21, of 152 Lawton Ln. in Bolingbrook, was arrested Oct. 24 and charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated battery and theft. Two warrants were obtained for his alleged involvement in these incidents, both of which took place near Hometown Pantry, 114 S. Rt. 53. One took place on Sept. 30; the other on Oct. 13. A clerk at a gas station in Bolingbrook was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night, according to Bolingbrook police. Joseph L. Johnson, 32, of 9540 S. Perry in Chicago, was arrested and charged with armed robbery. The robbery took place at 9:04 p.m. at a Marathon gas station located at 290 Veterans Parkway. The clerk told police a man entered the store and demanded money and cigarettes. The thief then pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at the clerk. The offender took $1,178 and several cartons of cigarettes. Someone stole a cell phone, wallet and keys after displaying a handgun and threatening the victim Aug. 31.
An armed robbery took place in the driveway on Aug. 31 in the 200 block of S. Pinecrest Road, according to Bolingbrook police. Someone approached the victim while he or she was in the driveway of the home at 9:30 p.m. The offender displayed a handgun and stole a cell phone, wallet and keys. The offender then told the victim to return to his or her car. The offender drove off after threatening the victim. No one has been charged in the incident.

A man is behind bars after he was found with about 40 bags of heroin. Bolingbrook police arrested Chad E. Hinshaw, 32, of Pontiac, at 6:10 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Remington Boulevard and Brookview Lane. Hinshaw was a passenger in a car that had been stopped by police for failing to signal when required after cutting across three lanes of traffic. The traffic violation resulted in causing several other commuters to apply their brakes to avoid a collision with the car, police said. Officers said they saw Hinshaw “duck down and then briskly move around the seat.” After approaching the vehicle, police said Hinshaw continued to fidget and act nervous.
