Departing Athletic Director Anderson Proud of Activity Growth at BHS
Bolingbrook High School has won seven state championships under Anderson's supervision as athletic director.
Alec Anderson considers himself a “very fortunate” man. After all, teams under his supervision as athletic director at three different Illinois high schools have won seven state championships, five of them coming during his 7-year tenure at Bolingbrook High School. “Timing is everything,” he said. “A lot of athletic administrators I know work their entire careers and they don’t get one.” But, as Anderson prepares to leave his position as assistant principal of athletics and activities at BHS in two months to become director of athletics and activities at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, the state championships aren’t what he remembers most. “Yes, the state championships have been a lot of fun,” he said. “But it’s been great to see the …

I have felt very fortunate to have worked for Mr. Anderson. He will be missed and Homewood-Flossmoor is lucky to have him. I am looking forward to Mr. Rose being the AD, it will be a great year.   more ›
