The Taylor Babec Community Blood Drive is set for Jan. 30.

Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow is pleased to announce that his office once again is partnering with Heartland Blood Centers and Joliet mom Jennifer Babec to host a blood drive in downtown Joliet. The next Taylor Babec Community Blood Drive will be from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at the Will County State's Attorney's Office, 121 N. Chicago Street, across the street from the historic Rialto Square Theatre. Anyone who works in or visits downtown Joliet is encouraged to take 30 minutes to donate blood on Jan. 30. Donate to Toys for Tots and other ways you can give back in Bolingbrook this month.
Sponsored by the Bolingbrook High School National Honor Society, the drive will run from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria Dec. 8. Participants should enter through Door 17. Reservations are not necessary but can be made by calling LifeSource. The Bolingbrook Lions and Leos organization is hosting its annual Coat the Kids drive through Monday, Dec. 10. To date, the organization has collected 400 winter coats and is looking for more donations. Winter coats that are new or very lightly used can be distributed to local schools, churches and shelters. Editor's note: The following is a press release from Valley View School District 365U. Bolingbrook High School’s annual fall LifeSource Blood Drive is slated for Thursday, Sept. 27. The blood drive, sponsored by the National Honor Society and the Junior ROTC program, is annually one of the top-producing high school blood drives in the state. Community members who wish to participate must contact Andrea Heil at HeilAN@vvsd.org to make an appointment. Appointments are available every 15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Staff members are also asked to set up an appointment but they will be given priority so that they may return to their classrooms as quickly as possible. The blood drive will be held in the BHS wrestling room.

Curves of Bolingbrook is sponsoring a community blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, on Heartland’s mobile coach in the parking lot at 489 W. Boughton Road, Bolingbrook. A photo ID is required. Editor's Note: The following is a release from the Valley View School District. Bolingbrook High School blood drives secured more blood last year than any other high school blood drive programs in the state, according to LifeSource Blood Centers. Sponsored by the BHS National Honor Society in conjunction with the school’s Junior ROTC unit, three blood drives are held throughout the school year. BHS blood drives during the past school year accounted for 764 units of blood. Each unit can save up to three lives.
