Bolingbrook Football: Will Aaron Bailey Play Friday? Answer Still Unclear

Bolingbrook High School will take on Carl Sandburg Friday night in the first round of the IHSA football playoffs.

The Bolingbrook High School football team's first playoff game is almost upon us, and the big question is: Will Bolingbrook's star quarterback Aaron Bailey be clear to play?  He may, and he may not. Whether Bailey will play Friday, or if he does, for how long, are both unclear.  Bailey injured his knee during Bolingbrook's game against Lincoln-Way East Sept. 28. He visited the doctor Monday, and his knee was "80 to 90 percent," according to the Chicago Tribune.  "Bailey is eager to return for a run at another state title, but would like to be 100 percent when he does," the Tribune reported.  Even without Bailey, the Tribune picks Bolingbrook to win over Sandburg in the first week of the playoffs. The Raiders lost to Sandburg in overtime 13…

Bolingbrook is still ranked #9 in the Tribune's power rankings.  READ MORE:  - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -  There are plenty of ways to keep up on…

Breaking It Down: Four quarters just wasn't enough for Sandburg and Bolingbrook on Friday night, Oct. 5. The Eagles and Raiders went the full 48 minutes and left the field tied 6-6 at the end of regulation. However, the Eagles weren't ready to stick around long, as they scored on the very first play of overtime on a play-action pass and then scooped up a Raiders' fumble one Bolingbrook's first play from scrimmage in overtime to ice the game. After trailing the entire game, the Eagles mounted a 14-yard touchdown drive at the start of the fourth quarter—following a Bolingbrook fumble at Raiders' own 14-yard-line—but, Bolingbrook blocked the extra point, knotting the game at 6-6.
