McNeil Automotive Industries, Inc., which manufactures and sells WeatherTech car mats, is building a large addition to its current location in Bolingbrook.
McNeil Automotive Industries, Inc., has started construction on a new, 100,000-square-foot addition to its facility in Bolingbrook. McNeil manufactures and sells car mats under the Weather Tech brand, according to the Chicago Tribune. The company currently owns a 52,000-square-foot building at 510 Woodcreek Drive. Of Bolingbrook's total retail space, 7.5 percent, or 470,241 square feet, was vacant. That percentage was up from the 6.9 percent, or 430,389 square feet, that was vacant in 2011. The amount of available retail space in Bolingbrook changes each year. In Q1 2011, there was 6,551,894 square feet of available space. In Q1 2012, there was 6,586,855 square feet of available retail space. Despite the dip, Bolingbrook saw a 6 percent increase in retail sales from Q1 2011 to Q1 2012 and a 5.5 percent increase in sales tax revenue in that same time period. …

The Bolingbrook village board approved tax receipts this month showing a 6.6 percent increase from November 2011 to November 2012, according to the Chicago Tribune. Those are signs people are spending their money more and businesses are doing better, officials said.
