Drug Cartel Planned to Smuggle Cocaine into Bolingbrook Airport: DEA

The operation was planned for the same weekend as the 12th annual Cavalcade of Planes at the Clow International Airport in Bolingbrook, according to reports.

$500,000 Worth of Marijuana, Ecstasy Seized from Plainfield Home

Ecstasy pills, 92 cannabis plants seized during the search of a Plainfield home, which resulted in the arrest of a Romeoville man.

Plainfield police and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents seized more than $500,000 worth of marijuana and ecstasy during a search of a Plainfield home Tuesday, police said in a press release. Quy Doan, 30, of the 200 block of Zinnia, Romeoville, was arrested in connection to the grow operation and is being held at the Will County Adult Detention Center, police said. According to jail records, Doan was booked on five felony charges: manufacture/delivery of 50-200 grams of schedule I and II substances, producing 50-200 cannabis plants, manufacture/delivery of more than 500 grams of cannabis, possession of 2,000-5,000 grams of cannabis and possession of a controlled substance. Bolingbrook Drug Ring Member Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison: Officials

Alfredo Garcia, 36, is the fourth member of a suspected seven-member cocaine drug ring busted in 2011.

A 36-year-old Bolingbrook man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after he was convicted in August of drug charges, according to DuPage County officials.  Alfredo Garcia, of the 100 block of Farm Gate Lane, was found guilty of one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in August.  Want to get the latest Bolingbrook news in your inbox every morning?
