B.J. Ward Students to Receive Donated Instruments from CHIME!

B.J. Ward Elementary School students will receive 15 instruments that were donated at a January instrument drive at several Bolingbrook churches.

B.J. Ward Elementary School students will be the beneficiaries of the initial music instruments donations from newly formed Bolingbrook CHIME! (Children Having Instruments for Music Education.) Sign up for our free, daily e-newsletter.  Like Bolingbrook Patch on Facebook.  The volunteer-based group of concerned citizens committed to locating, renovating and providing new or used musical instruments to low-income children in the Valley View School District, will work with Ward staff to determine who will receive 15 instruments that were donated in the group’s first instrument drive held at several Bolingbrook churches Jan. 27. CHIME! Looking for Gently Used Instruments for Low Income Valley View Students

The new not-for-profit is looking for instruments for Valley View School District 365U students who wouldn't be able to participate in band otherwise.

CHIME! looking for gently used instruments for low income VVSD students CHIME!, a new not-for-profit organization, is launching an effort to collect used instruments so that children in Valley View School District 365U who might not otherwise be able to afford participation in band will be able to do so. “If you, or someone you know, has an instrument that is no longer needed, this is a great way to help our children," said Aimee Rupsis, director of bands for Bolingbrook High School. Because this is the first year of operation for CHIME! (Children Having Instruments for Music Education) the group’s instrument closet is empty.
