BHS Student is National Merit Finalist

Winners of Merit Scholarship awards are chosen from the finalist group based on their abilities, skills and accomplishments.

Editor's Note: The following is a release from the Valley View School District. Bolingbrook High School senior Carlos Jimenez has been named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. The son of Carlos and Erin Jimenez, Carlos plans on going into the engineering field and is considering attending Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon or Cornell. A four-year member of the BHS tennis team, and a BHS mathlete and Scholastic Bowl team member, he is extremely active in the community, volunteering at Cristo Es Rey Baptist Church. Carlos is one of only 15,000 students to be selected for the prestigious honor from among 1.5 million students nationwide who took the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last spring.
