Tribune: Darien Kidnap Victim had 'Always been Afraid' of Kidnapper

A woman kidnapped at knifepoint early Friday had been denied an order of protection against her attacker last month, the Tribune reported Monday.

A Darien man charged with murder and aggravated kidnapping was ordered to be held without bail Monday.  Joseph Spitalli, 34, of 7529 Country Lane in Darien, was taken into custody Sunday and charged with murder in the stabbing death of 31-year-old Teymur Huseynli, of Skokie. Spitalli was also charged with aggravated kidnapping after officials said he kidnapped Huseynli's ex-girlfriend, 28-year-old Kristina Baltrimaviciene. Officials: Darien Man Charged with Murder, Kidnapping

A Darien man was charged with first degree murder and aggravated kidnapping following the murder, which the State's Attorney's Office said took place on Friday in Darien.

A Darien man has been charged with first degree murder and aggravated kidnapping after DuPage County officials said he killed one person and then kidnapped a woman at knifepoint Friday.  Joseph Spitalli, 34, of 7529 Country Lane in Darien, was taken into custody Sunday and charged with murder in the stabbing death of 31-year-old Teymur Huseynli. Spitalli was also charged with aggravated kidnapping after officials said he kidnapped Huseynli's girlfriend. Darien police responded at 12:25 a.m. Friday to a battery call on Wildwood Court in Darien, according to a DuPage County State's Attorney's press release. They found Huseynli dead on the lawn of an apparent knife wound.  Officials aren't releasing any other information at this time. …

Woodridge Man Throws Marijuana Over Bridge During 3-Town Chase

The chase started in Darien, traveled through Bolingbrook and ended in Lemont when the man crashed his car, police said.

A Woodridge man was charged with multiple felonies March 5 after Darien police said he led them on a chase that extended from the city and through Bolingbrook before concluding in Lemont. The chase began shortly before 2 a.m. when officers said they saw Eduardo Lopez, 20, of the 8100 block of Rutherford Drive in Woodridge, swerving over the center lane line and turning several times without signaling. Officers attempted to pull him over, but Lopez continued driving through Darien, Bolingbrook and Lemont, with a short stint on Interstate 55, according to the report. Lopez crashed in Lemont and ran from his car, throwing a bag of marijuana over a bridge before officers caught him near Lemont Road and Beller Drive, the report said. Darien …

Police: Darien Woman Involved in 3 Car Accidents in 1 Day

The driver, whose blood alcohol levels were nearly five times the legal limit, was involved in crashes in Bolingbrook and Woodridge before being detained at the scene of a crash in Darien.

A Darien woman involved in three separate accidents in one day was charged with driving under the influence after her blood alcohol levels tested nearly five times the legal limit, Darien police said. Around 9:25 p.m. Feb. 3, Lori Ann Gutierrez drove into a Mercury Cougar, pushing it into a Chevy Trailblazer on Boughton Road near the Interstate 355 ramp in Bolingbrook, Bolingbrook police said.  Gutierrez, 44, of the 2600 block of Woodmere Drive, left the scene traveling west on Boughton Road, according to the report. The Bolingbrook Fire Department took one person to the hospital with undisclosed injuries, the report said. The driver of one of the other cars declined medical attention. Man Charged with Battery in Parking Lot Road Rage Incident

Bolingbrook resident allegedly hit driver in the face.

A Bolingbrook man was charged with battery Saturday after punching another man in the face in the parking lot outside the Darien Jimmy John’s, police said. George A. Madsen, 54, of the 400 block of Devon Lane in Bolingbrook, approached the driver of another car and accused him of nearly hitting Madsen’s car while speeding through the lot, Darien police spokesman Nick Skweres said. Madsen punched the victim in and around his face while the man yelled for him to stop, according to the report. Madsen fled the scene after the victim pushed him away, Skweres said. Officers arrested Madsen around 4:40 p.m. near the intersection of 75thStreet and Lemont Road, police said. He has a June 28 court date at the DuPage County Courthouse.

It all depends on his record. A first time offender will receive a fine, probation, a psych exam and some sort of anger management course. If there's a record of violent outburst (fights, domestic trouble, etc), then jail time becomes a possibility.   more ›
