Man Strangled, Stabbed Former Girlfriend in Woodridge: Officials

A man is being held without bond in the alleged murder of his former girlfriend, according to DuPage County officials.

Sign up for our daily newsletter. Adam Belmont, 23, of Northlake, is in custody for the alleged murder of his former girlfriend, Alyssa Van Meter, of Woodridge. The alleged murder took place Saturday at 11:30 p.m., according to officials, on Forest Drive.  Police responded to the address to find Van Meter dead on the bedroom floor of her apartment. Around 9 p.m. Saturday night, Belmont allegedly entered Van Meter’s apartment by climbing up the outside balcony and climbing through a window. …

A Bolingbrook man and former Maywood police officer was arrested Friday after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a Villa Park hotel.

A Bolingbrook man and former Maywood police officer was arrested Friday after authorities said he sexually assaulted a woman while on duty.  Deon Sams, 38, of 212 Orchard, is being held on $200,000 bond and is facing two counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of official misconduct, both felonies.  Officials said that while on patrol on March 24, Sams encountered his female victim walking along the street in Maywood. He allegedly asked the woman if she needed assistance. He then returned to the police station with the woman, returned his police car and left with the woman in his personal car.  Sams then took her to a Villa Park hotel, rented a room and escorted her to the room. Chicago Man Sentenced to Eight Years for Dealing Heroin

Antoine Johnson allegedly sold heroin to DuPage County narcotics agents five teams between March and April.

A 27-year-old Chicago man was sentenced to eight years in prison Monday after he was convicted of selling heroin, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney.  Antoine Johnson entered a blind plea of guilty on Oct. 29 to one count of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Class X Felony). Between March 22 and April 12, Johnson allegedly sold heroin to undercover DuMEG (DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group) narcotics agents on five separate occasions. After the fifth deal, Johnson was taken into custody and charged. All of the transactions took place in southeast DuPage County. “I would like to commend officials at DuMEG for their solid police work in this case,” Berlin said in a press release. “Because of their efforts, we were …

Tribune: Darien Kidnap Victim had 'Always been Afraid' of Kidnapper

A woman kidnapped at knifepoint early Friday had been denied an order of protection against her attacker last month, the Tribune reported Monday.

A Darien man charged with murder and aggravated kidnapping was ordered to be held without bail Monday.  Joseph Spitalli, 34, of 7529 Country Lane in Darien, was taken into custody Sunday and charged with murder in the stabbing death of 31-year-old Teymur Huseynli, of Skokie. Spitalli was also charged with aggravated kidnapping after officials said he kidnapped Huseynli's ex-girlfriend, 28-year-old Kristina Baltrimaviciene. Officials: Darien Man Charged with Murder, Kidnapping

A Darien man was charged with first degree murder and aggravated kidnapping following the murder, which the State's Attorney's Office said took place on Friday in Darien.

A Darien man has been charged with first degree murder and aggravated kidnapping after DuPage County officials said he killed one person and then kidnapped a woman at knifepoint Friday.  Joseph Spitalli, 34, of 7529 Country Lane in Darien, was taken into custody Sunday and charged with murder in the stabbing death of 31-year-old Teymur Huseynli. Spitalli was also charged with aggravated kidnapping after officials said he kidnapped Huseynli's girlfriend. Darien police responded at 12:25 a.m. Friday to a battery call on Wildwood Court in Darien, according to a DuPage County State's Attorney's press release. They found Huseynli dead on the lawn of an apparent knife wound.  Officials aren't releasing any other information at this time. …

Police: 21-Year-Old Woodridge Man Murdered Father With Weed Trimmer

Yashesh S. Desai of 3 Plover Court has been arrested in connection with the death of his father, Sanjiv J. Desai, police said.

Updated: 5:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15 A judge granted the state's motion for an appointment of a clinical psychologist in Monday's bond court hearing for the Woodridge man whom police say killed his father with a weed trimmer. Yashesh S. Desai, 21, of 3 Plover Court, Woodridge, has been charged with first-degree murder. Desai's bond was set at $2 million during Monday's hearing, said DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin. Berlin said Yashesh Desai talked about Godzilla, X and Y chromosomes and "killing the retards" in statements to police.
