For Elaine Pikula, a 62-year-old Bolingbrook resident, lumpectomy and radiation were her only treatments. Patsy Walker, 52, also of Bolingbrook, had a more aggressive cancer and required a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. Black Nike T-shirts will be sold to students for $10 during lunch hours Monday through Friday. Any adult interested in purchasing the shirts may come to the athletic director’s office between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Sept. 26-30. 1. Peterson Trial to Begin in the Next Few Months? A fifth bid to get the Drew Peterson out of the Will County jail fell on deaf ears at the Illinois Supreme Court on Monday. Peterson has been locked since May 2009 on charges he murdered his third wife, Kathleen Savio, and has been in legal limbo since prosecutors appealed a ruling on hearsay evidence the day before his trial was to start in July 2010. Peterson is being held on a $20 million bond. His attorneys contend he should be free while waiting on a prosecution appeal. But according to a report, the ruling left Peterson’s attorneys “hopeful” the high court will not hear the appeal from prosecutors, which could clear the way for Peterson to stand trial in the next few months. “We’re …
