Around the Southwest Suburban Blue: Raiders Remain Unbeaten

With the Bolingbrook Raiders' 41-28 win over Homewood-Flossmoor, the team remained unbeaten as it prepares to put its top-ranked offense against Lincoln-Way East's top-rated defense in the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference.

Bolingbrook 41, Homewood-Flossmoor 28: Bolingbrook led 41-7 at half. The Vikings made a comeback in the second half as Williams threw two touchdown passes and Anfernee Roberts intercepted an Aaron Bailey pass for 40 yards and a touchdown to make the score 41-28. Valley View Follows State, Adopts Sports Safety Policies

District must now secure all soccer goalposts and must medically clear players with signs of a concussion.

The school year is in full tow. And that means fall sports are beginning their regular season schedules. Winter sports practices are soon to follow. From the new concussion policy: Any athlete in a sport who exhibits signs, symptoms, or behaviors consistent with a concussion (such as loss of consciousness, headache, dizziness, confusion, and/or balance problems) shall be immediately removed from the game or practice …

Girls Soccer: Lady Raiders Post Best Record in 21 Years

With four seniors headed for graduation, Bolingbrook looks to solid group of underclassmen to continue improvement.

The Bolingbrook girl’s soccer season ended after a 3-0 IHSA regional loss to the defending state champions Waubonsie Valley on Wednesday. But the season was far from lost as the Lady Raiders (13-9-1) posted their best record since the 1990 season, when the team went 14-2-2, and recorded their first-winning season since 1993. “We’ve had our ups and downs this season," said head coach Martin Uscila. "We started on fire. The girls have met my expectations this year. [Since ’93] we haven’t won a conference game.” The Raiders jumped out to a 7-1-1 start this season, but cooled down after losing four straight to Stagg, Willowbrook, Andrew and Lincoln-Way Central.
