Michael Marzo was charged with first-degree murder after police said he stabbed his mother, Shirley Marzo, in the back.
Updated at 4 a.m. Dec. 3 A Bolingbrook woman found dead in her bathroom Friday afternoon is believed to have been killed in a domestic dispute, police said. Shirley Marzo, 53, was found after police responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute between a mother and her son at 3:45 p.m. In a press release, Bolingbrook Police Lt. Michael Rompa said a female caller told dispatchers that her mother was dead. Officers responding to the home at 513 Nassau Ave. discovered Marzo in the bathroom with apparent stab wounds to her back. A preliminary investigation suggested Marzo was involved in a domestic dispute with her son, Rompa said in the release.
