Bolingbrook's newest restaurant has opened at 1296 W. Boughton Rd.
Bolingbrook's newest restaurant is Aki Hibachi and Sushi Bar. The restaurant opened recently on 1296 W. Boughton Rd., near the intersection of Weber Road and Boughton Road. Unlike many of Bolingbrook's other restaurants, Aki is not a chain. Owner Song Zhang started working in his parent's restaurant in Oswego for 13 years. When his parents decided to retire, Zhang decided to open his own restaurant in Bolingbrook. The location is great, and "Bolingbrook doesn't have a restaurant like this," he said. Zhang called on several of his friends to man the restaurant, including chefs he said have worked in restaurants in Manhattan, NY. "They have many, many years of experience," he said.
