June 16 Victim punched in face, cell phone and wallet stolen Someone punched another in the face and then stole the victim’s cell phone and wallet at 1:50 p.m. in the 300 block of S. Schmidt Road, according to Bolingbrook police. Fight Officers were called to the 200 block of Fox Bend Circle for the report of a large fight, police said. A Chicago woman unsuccessfully attempted to use fraudulent gift cards to buy alcohol in Bolingbrook and then stole a bottle of vodka, police said.
A Chicago woman was arrested Saturday and charged with retail theft and six counts of possession of counterfeit credit/debit cards, according to Bolingbrook police. Police say Oretha M. Miller, 35, of 4207 W. Gladys in Chicago, attempted to purchase several items from a store's liquor department with fraudulent gift cards. The store is located in the 700 block of E. Boughton Road. Miller also placed one bottle of vodka under her purse in the shopping cart, police said. When the gift cards were declined, she allegedly stole the bottle of vodka.
