Valley View School District 365U has decided to allow parents and guardians to eat lunch occasionally with their children at elementary schools that permit such a practice. READ MORE: Following the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, Valley had instituted a temporary moratorium on lunchtime visits for parents and guardians. The practice was put into place the week prior to Winter Break as school and district officials assessed existing security procedures. The district is continuing to assess those procedures. Valley View School District 365U officials have revised the district's new security regulations regarding food and visitors. The district released a list of new safety and security measures Monday following the elementary school shooting in Newtown, CT. I actually emailed the district about the threat and the superintendent emailed me back regarding the issue. My daughter is in school today, there was added security when I dropped her off. Even though they found who started the rumor, they still took extra precautions today. I am thankful that even though they found the rumor was not credible they still took action to keep our children safe. … more ›
