A Northlake man is being held without bond after DuPage County officials said strangled his former Woodridge girlfriend before stabbing her in the chest and sexually assaulted her. Adam Belmont, 23, of Northlake, is in custody for the alleged murder of his former girlfriend, Alyssa Van Meter, of Woodridge. The alleged murder took place Saturday at 11:30 p.m., according to officials, on Forest Drive. Police responded to the address to find Van Meter dead on the bedroom floor of her apartment. A Bolingbrook man and former Maywood police officer was arrested Friday after authorities said he sexually assaulted a woman while on duty. Deon Sams, 38, of 212 Orchard, is being held on $200,000 bond and is facing two counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of official misconduct, both felonies. Officials said that while on patrol on March 24, Sams encountered his female victim walking along the street in Maywood. He allegedly asked the woman if she needed assistance. He then returned to the police station with the woman, returned his police car and left with the woman in his personal car. Alfredo Porcayo of Bolingbrook was charged with predatory criminal sexual assault after police said he had inappropriate contact with his step-granddaughter.
The trial for the Bolingbrook man that police say had improper relations with his ten-year-old relative was delayed Monday in a Will County courtroom. The bench trial for Alfredo Porcayo, 33, of the 200 block of Bunker Hill Drive, was continued to June 22. Porcayo was charged in March 2008 with predatory criminal sexual assault after police said he had inappropriate contact with his 10-year-old step-granddaughter on several occasions. Lt. Ken Teppel, who at the time was the spokesman for the Bolingbrook Police Department, said the unidentified 10-year-old victim and her mother—both Bolingbrook residents—went to police in February 2008 with concerns about Porcayo’s contact with the girl over the past year, according to a 2008 Suburban …
