Four Bolingbrook High School students were among the top first year novice speakers at this month’s Downers Grove North Speech Tournament. Jena Johnson earned a 1st place in radio and Dania Harris took 1st in Oratory. Paul Crafton took a 3rd in Impromptu Speaking and a 6th in Extemporaneous Speaking and Kayla Lottie was 5th in Dramatic Interpretation. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - There are plenty of ways to keep up on Bolingbrook news:

Editor's Note: The article is a release from Valley View School District 365U. Lead by senior Heather Afriyie, Bolingbrook High School’s speech team will send four individuals to the Illinois High School Association’s Speech Tournament sectionals at Homewood-Flossmoor Feb. 11. Afriyie won the Sandburg regional individual competition in both dramatic interpretation and oratorical declamation. Other sectional qualifiers included sophomore Mohamed Elhrisse, who finished fourth in prose reading; senior Sandra Elmore, who finished third in original oratory; and sophomore Suraj (Neil) Seth, who finished second in impromptu.
