A 22-year-old man from Bolingbrook said he was stabbed following an argument outside a Chicago bar.
Police were called to MacNeal Memorial Hospital in Oak Park when a 22-year-old Bolingbrook man claimed he was stabbed in Lake View. The man told police he was at a bar on the corner of Belmont Avenue and Clark Street when he stepped out for a cigarette around 3 a.m. After he began to argue with another man, the Bolingbrook man claims he was cut with a three-inch knife on the chest. He could not give any additional details about the bar or the suspect. A man is being held without bond in the alleged murder of his former girlfriend, according to DuPage County officials.
A Northlake man is being held without bond after DuPage County officials said strangled his former Woodridge girlfriend before stabbing her in the chest and sexually assaulted her. Adam Belmont, 23, of Northlake, is in custody for the alleged murder of his former girlfriend, Alyssa Van Meter, of Woodridge. The alleged murder took place Saturday at 11:30 p.m., according to officials, on Forest Drive. Police responded to the address to find Van Meter dead on the bedroom floor of her apartment. Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, pleads not guilty on 10 counts of first-degree murder for the alleged stabbing deaths of her 7-year-old son Justin and 5-year-old Olivia Dworakowski and 2 counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
In a historic court hearing Wednesday, in which cameras were allowed inside a DuPage County courtroom for the first time, a Naperville woman's attorney entered a plea of not guilty for her in the stabbing deaths of two young children. Elzbieta Plackowska, 40, did not speak during the hearing and was dressed in a dark blue jail uniform facing Judge Robert Kleeman with her back to the cameras. Police said neither injury appeared to be life threatening.
Bolingbrook police are still investigating an altercation earlier this month which appeared to stem from a disagreement over a parking spot and left two with stab wounds. Police were called at 1:18 a.m. June 3 to the 200 block of Creekside Drive after getting a report that about 10 people were fighting, including one with a gun. Upon arrival, police said no weapon was found but several individuals were located, including one with a stab wound to the abdomen. A 21 year-old male of Crest Hill was transported to Good Samaritan hospital where he underwent emergency surgery, police said. A 17-year-old had been struck with a large stick, police said. Naperville Police say man's head wounds are minor.
A Bolingbrook stabbing victim at Edward Hospitalin Naperville Wednesday evening asked that police not get involved in the incident. "Our officers were at the hospital for an unrelated call," Naperville Police Sgt. Gregg Bell said Thursday. The male victim, who was not named in the report, got into an altercation in Bolingbrook around 9 p.m. Wednesday, police said. He suffered stab wounds to the head, but Bell said the wounds were minor. "To my knowledge, nothing pierced his skull or anything of that nature," he said. "His injuries were non-life threatening." The man denied assistance from both Naperville and Bolingbrook police departments, Bell said.

Marco Rodriguez, accused of killing Roberto Cortez of Romeoville, appeared in a Will County courtroom Monday.
As a trial approaches for the Bolingbrook man police say fatally stabbed a Romeoville man in 2009, lawyers say a small amount of discovery remains to be had and the two sides will meet again in court May 9. Marco Rodriguez, a Bolingbrook resident accused of killing Roberto Cortez, 30, of Romeoville, appeared in a Will County courtroom Monday morning for a status hearing. Rodriguez allegedly killed Cortez after the two got into a verbal fight during a Christmas party on the 100 block of Campbell Drive. Rodriguez was later arrested in a Des Plaines hotel. Rodriguez remains in jail and spoke through a translator Monday. He is being charged with first-degree murder.

A Joliet woman is being charged with two counts of aggravated battery to an officer after police said she stabbed two officers with a pen Saturday.
A Joliet woman is in jail today after authorities said she stabbed two Bolingbrook officers with a pen over the weekend inside the Bolingbrook Police Department’s headquarters. Dawn Hogue, 31, of the 300 block of Oak Street in Joliet, is being charged with two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting or obstructing a peace officer following Saturday's incident. Hogue was found at 7:30 a.m. in the Police Department’s lobby, where officers said she had made a mess. Hogue told officers she had nowhere to go and was told police could call a chaplain for her or help her find shelter, according to reports. Eventually, police placed her at Groundworks, a social services agency in Joliet. But after about an hour, officers …
