Bolingbrook Students Practice Acts of Kindness for "Pay it Forward 365" Week
The week-long Valley View School District 365U initiative was based on the film "Pay it Forward."
Bolingbrook students spent time performing community service, practiced good manners and constructed a chain of kindness during Valley View School District 365U's "Pay it Forward 365" week. Just one example: Independence Elementary School students took time out of their day Tuesday to write letters to Bolingbrook-area senior citizens. It was “Send A Little You to Someone New” day, one of five themed days for Valley View School District’s “Pay It Forward 365” week. The goal of the student letter writing campaign was to be friendly and find a way to brighten the day of shut-ins at nursing homes such as Meadowbrook Manor. Awesome idea!!! I try and teach my kids to be kind to others, and they have been known to stand up for some not so popular kids. An example if a small kind thing, that I didn't even know about till much after it started was.....my daughter had a student in her class, that we will just say wasn't like mist kids.
