Police said Hughes entered Bolingbrook High School Tuesday afternoon at 2:11 p.m. "The high school day ends at 2 p.m.," said Larry Randa, director of community relations for Valley View. A former student entered Bolingbrook High School Tuesday with what "Bolingbrook Police believe resembled a handgun," Valley View School District 365U reported on its Facebook page Wednesday. The incident took place after student dismissal on Tuesday. The individual is in custody and the incident is under investigation. "We continue to work with our local law enforcement officials to ensure the safety of all students and staff," the message from Valley View Superintendent James Mitchem said.
