Valley View School District 365U swore in its newly elected school board members Monday night, welcoming newcomers Deborah Sykora and Daniel Falese and bidding farewell to Ronnie Bull and Jim Curran. Bull did run for re-election and was a part of the "Friends of Valley View" slate, but was not re-elected. Elizabeth Campbell and Chrystal Hansen were re-elected to the board. Unofficial vote totals following the April 9 election showed that Daniel Falese led fellow newcomer Jaime Olson by only 109 votes. Falese ran on the "Friends of Valley View" slate. Olson did not. Sykora said she ran on the slate after "meeting them and voicing my concerns about current issues in the school system." Only 109 votes separated Daniel Falese and Jaime Olson in Tuesday's Valley View School District 365U school board election.
With absentee votes still uncounted and official election results not to be released until the end of the month, some uncertainty remains over who nabbed the fourth seat on the Valley View School District 365U school board. Only 109 votes separated newcomers Daniel Falese and Jaime Olson in the election. With four school board seats available, Falese received the fourth-most votes with 2,485. Olson was a close fifth with 2,376. Incumbent Ronnie Bull received just 94 fewer votes than Olson, with 2,282. Falese and Bull were both endorsed by Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar and was a member of the "Friends of Valley View" slate, along with Chrystal Hansen, Ronnie Bull and Deborah Sykora.
