A chance of rain is forecast for all of the next seven days except one. The temperatures are warming, but being stuck inside because of the rain might make our Midwestern Spring fever even worse. The village of Bolingbrook will combine the position of director of community development and public works into one position by May 1.
The village of Bolingbrook plans to combine the duties of both the director of community development and director of public works come May 1. Patch reported March 4 that the director of community development would be cut from the village's 2013-2014 budget. Dennis Kowalczyk currently serves as the director of community development. Kowalczyk earned a salary of almost $90,000 in 2012 with almost $37,000 in benefits. Michael Drey served as the current director of public works. He is the village's highest paid employee, with a salary of $124,000 and almost $42,000 in benefits. The village of Bolingbrook has removed the position of director of community development from its budget, effective May 1.
The top position of a second village of Bolingbrook department will be cut this spring. In addition to fire chief, the director of community development will be cut in the village's Fiscal 2014 budget, according to Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar. Both changes will be effective May 1. The parlor is expected to open this spring at McQ's Sports Bar & Dome in Bolingbrook.
The Bolingbrook village board voted unanimously Tuesday night to give the go-ahead for an off-track betting parlor to open at McQ's Sports Bar & Dome this spring. The board approved ordinances for a special use permit for the OTB parlor and an amendment to the village's zoning code. The location still needs to acquire a license from the Illinois Racing Board before it can open. McQ's Owner James McWethy said he hopes to open the facility this spring in time for the Kentucky Derby, though no official opening date has been set. Get news in your inbox.
