A woman claiming a medication miscalculation landed her in the hospital is suing Walgreens. An attorney representing plaintiff Ginger Joseph filed the lawsuit in Will County court. The suit claims Joseph's doctor called a prescription for the thyroid drug liothyronine in to the Walgreens on Lily Cache Lane in Bolingbrook on May 10, 2011. But instead of providing the prescribed dosage of liothyronine, the pharmacy gave Joseph "one thousand times greater than the dosage prescribed" by the doctor, the lawsuit said. When Joseph took the medication, she "suffered thyrotoxicity causing severe injuries requiring in-patient hospitalization, and including pain and suffering, increased heart rate palpitations, tachycardia (and) severe fatigue," …

Call your doctor first and see if they charge. If not go there for your flu shot! If you get the shot from the nurse, you shouldn't be charged a co-pay. Call and check. I wasn't charged a fee for either my shot or for my kids flu mist. If you happen to get sick, go to GNC and pick up a probiotic and take it everyday for a week.   more ›

No injuries reported in fake bomb threat that evacuated a Walgreens on the east side of Bolingbrook Wednesday night.
A bomb threat to Walgreens, located at 680 E. Boughton Rd., forced customers and employees to evacuate the building for a brief period of time Wednesday evening. According to police, an unidentified male called the store at approximately 5:50 p.m. and threatened that there was a bomb in the building. The store was evacuated while police thoroughly searched the building. After police failed to find a bomb, the business reopened at the manager's request. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Bolingbrook woman allegedly visited the pharmacy on May 18, June 5, June 7, and July 2 to illegally obtain the medications.
Rhonda L. Morrow, of the 400 block of Wyeth Circle in Bolingbrook, was arrested Aug. 17 in Bolingbrook after allegedly obtaining medications with fraudulent prescriptions four separate times at Walgreens, 15 Grant Square, according to the Hinsdale Police Department. It is alleged that Morrow, 48, visited the pharmacy on May 18, June 5, June 7, and July 2 to illegally obtain the medications, which according to police were not controlled substances. Morrow was charged with theft and was released to appear in court.

The Walgreens at 95th/Pulaski screwed up my wife's medication three times. We reported it every time to the manager in charge of the pharmacy who could not explain why the problems continued to occur. Switched to CVS, guess what no problem.   more ›
