Valley View to Consider Using Holidays for Student, Teacher Days
The public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. at the Valley View School District 365U Administrative Center.
Valley View School District 365U will hold a public hearing Monday to hear testimony about using three traditional school holidays for school attendance, teacher institute days, parent/teacher conference days or staff development activities. The holidays in question are Abraham Lincoln's Birthday (Feb. 12), Casimir Pulaski Day (first Monday in March) and Christopher Columbus Day (second Monday in October). Administration, educators, parents, and members of the public will have a chance to speak out on this proposal. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the board room at the Administrative Center at 755 Dalhart Drive in Romeoville. What do you think? Should the school district be able to use these days for student and teacher attendance?
