Tibbott Students Mark Patriot Day Around School’s Flagpole
About 700 students gathered to remember the 11th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

More than 700 Tibbott Elementary School students, teachers and staff gathered around the school’s flagpole Tuesday in observance of Patriot Day. READ MORE: Following morning announcements, students marched outside to the patriotic music, observing the Bolingbrook school’s two Peace Poles as they gathered for the ceremonies. The Peace Poles, put in place as a remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2011, terrorism events, say “May peace prevail on Earth” in eight different languages. Safety patrol members Angel Garcia, Max Castillo, Janette Villasenor, Mahammad Hamad and Stefany Tanev raised the flag and then lowered it to half staff before the entire school said …

I was at a meeting at the County Building in Joliet, I worked there at the time.
