Joseph Hillenmeyer is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. He is a nearly lifelong resident of Naperville and has always lived in the Chicago area.

As a journalist, he has covered government, news and special events in the south suburbs for the past four years, two as the editor of The Mokena Messenger and two freelancing for various Chicago-area media outlets including the Chicago Tribune.
