I am an attorney and blogger in the Chicago area. My law firm concentrates in commercial law and litigation, real estate transactions, construction law, bankruptcy, and collections. Over the years I've developed a network of blogs including www.practicehacker.com andThe Illinois Bankruptcy Lawyer Blog. I have also spearheaded web businesses like  elawcentral, one of the first legal portals online.

I attended the <i>University of Chicago</i> and <i>University of Michigan</i>, got my MBA from the <i>Ross School of Business at U of M</i>, and obtained my JD fromDePaul University. 

I have been the principal at M. Hedayat &amp; Associates since 1995; and from 2004 to 2010 was the President of Aegis Title Services as well. I have held Series 7 and 63 securities licenses, a business broker&#39;s license, and a title insurance license.
