BHS Students Nab Two Medals at Academic Challenge Regionals

Junior Sandeep N. Bharadwaj took first place in the chemistry competition, and senior John Kolder finished second in the math competition.

Two students earned medals at Saturday’s Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering Academic Challenge regional competition at University of St. Francis.

Junior Sandeep N. Bharadwaj took first place in the Chemistry competition, earning himself a spot in sectionals in March at North Central College. Senior John Kolder finished second in Math competition. Both competed in the Unlimited Division.

The Academic Challenge is a competitive series of 40-minute multiple-c hoice tests created and administered by WYSE. Test material is drawn from senior high school and freshman college-level curricula.

The state finals are April 5 at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.
