Ross Dress For Less to Open Next Month

The department store has taken over the space that has sat empty since Jo-Ann Fabric closed its doors.

The long-been awaited discount clothing retailer Ross Dress for Less is slated to open next month in Bolingbrook.

The department store is taking over the space that has sat empty since Jo-Ann Fabric closed its doors.

Bolingbrook Village Attorney Jim Boan said the space at 257 N. Weber Road has been vacant for about two years.

The tentative grand opening for the store is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday, March 3.

The chain is one of the largest discount retailers in the country, with more than 1,000 stores in 27 states, according to the Ross website. Ross opened 12 stores in the Chicago suburbs last fall, creating about 600 jobs.

Headquartered in Pleasanton, CA, Ross had fiscal 2010 revenues of $7.9 billion, according to its website. The stores offer name brand and designer apparel, accessories, footwear and home décor at savings of 20 percent to 60 percent off department and specialty store regular prices.
