Bolingbrook Principal Michele Romolt a National 'Shout Out' Winner

She elects to donate her share of a $5,000 prize from Indianapolis-based Herff Jones Nystrom to the Jonas Salk Elementary School's discretionary trust fund, too.

The following article was submitted by Valley View School District 365U:

Jonas Salk Elementary School’s discretionary Trust Fund has grown thanks to a $5,000 “Teacher Shout Out” award from Indianapolis-based Herff Jones Nystrom.

Salk Principal Michele Romolt was one of 10 nationwide winners of the company’s “Shout Out” in which community members were asked to go to the company’s website between March 16 and April 30 to express their gratitude for a special administrator, teacher, advisor or coach.

“These individuals symbolize the vital role that educators play in all of our lives,” said a Herff Jones Nystrom official when the winners were announced.

All 10 winners, who came from as far away as Hawaii and Vermont, received $2,500 for their schools and $2,500 for themselves. Principal Romolt immediately donated her $2,500 share to Jonas Salk as well.

Founded nearly 100 years ago, Herff Jones works closely with teachers, advisors, coaches, administrators, parents and students “to create a climate of achievement” through graduation products, class rings and jewelry, yearbooks, educational publishing, cheerleading and motivation and recognition tools.
