Man Nabbed in Bolingbrook Hotel Robbery: Police

Police are looking for a second suspect. The pair allegedly brandished what police believe was a BB gun as they robbed two women.

Bolingbrook police apprehended one man and are seeking a second suspect in an armed robbery Sunday night at the Ramada Inn.

Lt. Mike Rompa said two female victims were renting a room at the hotel, 520 S. Bolingbrook Dr., and reportedly invited Cambren Powell, 21, to their room.

Powell, of 10S660 Lilac Lane, entered the room at around 9:17 p.m. with a second suspect and the pair brandished a handgun, which was allegedly a BB gun, police said. The men pointed the weapon at the two victims and demanded money.

Police said Powell and the other suspect rummaged through the victims' property, looking for items of value, and stole a cell phone as they exited the room. Both suspects fled before police arrived, Rompa said.

Powell was located by police in the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive a short time later and was positively identified by victims, police said.

He was taken to the Will County jail on a charge or robbery, according to jail records.

The second offender is being sought and the incident remains under investigation, police said.
