Run a Ghoulish 5K Through a Cemetery This Weekend

3 Things To Do in Chicago: Great jazz in Hyde Park and a bite at Al's Beef, home of Chicago's official sandwich.

Runners, history buffs and ghouls unite! You can run through the sprawling and historic Rosehill Cemetery Saturday evening at 7 p.m. for its “Crypt 5K.” The 350-acre cemetery at 5800 N. Ravenswood features many prominent Chicagoans graves, from John. G. Shedd to Jack Brickhouse. Race-day registration starts at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $40 for a timed chip and $35 as just a fun run.

Eat some beef
Now that you’ve earned your dinner, go grab an Italian Beef, which Zagat recently named Illinois’ official sandwich. “Al’s Beef has the most authentic version, since it was Al Ferreri who came up with the recipe,“ Zagat says.
